It's been a busy year for us here at BT. We have migrated no fewer than 11,000 turrets in the space of just 18 months. We beat our own record this summer by completing the installation of a single BT ITS voice trading platform across a distance of 850km, connecting 240 traders at ANZ Bank's two main trading rooms in Melbourne and Sydney. And we hit a significant milestone: one in three traders worldwide now use a BT turret – that's more than 70,000 traders in over 800 trading firms in over 60 countries.
The launch of BT Unified Trading in Frankfurt last month saw our vision for a globally connected marketplace built on a suite of cloud compatible services delivered through an "intelligent" network come to fruition. BT Unified Trading is about much more than a technical architecture – it's about a level of service delivery and assurance, coupled with unparalleled expertise in onsite engineering and network diagnostics that have been honed over 30 years of delivering mission-critical voice, data and hosting to traders across the globe.
Nothing stands still of course, least of all the markets – and with your help we'll continue fine-tuning the solutions you need to retain and grow your clients in an ever tougher regulatory climate. You have worked with us every step of the way and we count on your continued input: so please keep on talking to us by emailing Julie.5.scott@bt.com or visiting our new website.
Howard Boville, Global Head of Trading Communications, Global Banking and Financial Markets, BT
